Tips for Introducing Breakout EDU to Your Students
1

Describe what to expect. Explain how to look for clues in the puzzle's image and description. Point out colors, shapes, numbers, letters, and directions. See if they can decode the clues to help lead to the digital lock combination.
Encourage collaboration. Sharing ideas, listening to one another, and working together is the key to success.
Step back and observe. This is an excellent opportunity for informal evaluation. Watch as students work together and interact. Provide a hint or direction only when needed. A hint is not the answer, but a nudge in the right direction.

Trial and error is a part of the process. It is okay for students to test their ideas often. If it doesn't unlock the lock, regroup with teammates and try again!
Reflect on the experience. Use the reflection questions provided, or write your own. Having students explain their thinking, give a shout out to a teammate, or design a new puzzle to add to the game is where the magic happens!
